About Us

Palmetto Dance’s mission is to grow the love of dancing in the York County and surrounding areas. It is our priority to meet the needs of each dancer. Our classes are designed based on age and skill level to create an environment that is supportive and builds on student knowledge and growth. PDP offers classes for ages 2 and up through Creative Movement, Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap and Hip Hop.

 

PDP also offers specialized movement classes for Exceptional Needs students. PDP priority is to assist dancers in developing responsibility, hard work, sportsmanship, teamwork, and community service within a safe and positive environment. PDP is committed to providing and maintaining the highest standards, fun, and a positive experience for all.

Instructional Staff

Elise Archie- Owner/ Director/ Instructor

Elise Archie graduated from Winthrop University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education. She created the dance program at Rawlinson Road Middle School in Rock Hill in 2005 and the dance program at Northwestern High school in 2015. She also has a Master's degree in k-12 Multi-categorical Special Education. Elise has worked with and taught many groups & high schools throughout the state of SC as a guest clinician & choreographer. She has been a co-director of  the award winning Northwestern Colorguard Performance Ensemble with the Northwestern Purple Regiment since 2003.  She also serves as a co-director for the Rock Hill High School Band of Distinction Colorguard program. Elise is a co-director of The District Independent Winterguard that was ranked 5th in the nation during the 2017 season. Elise has had some of her work published from Artopia to Dance Teacher Magazine. She has worked with many well known choreographers such as Alonzo King, Amy Marshall, Abby Lee Miller, Mia Michaels, Teddy Forance & Carol Abohatab

 

 

Tiffany Moss-Choreographer

Tiffany is one of the original PDP dancers. She danced competitively for 2 years for PDP before graduating from Northwestern High School. She is a graduate of  Winthrop University where she obtained her degree in Dance Education. Tiffany was a 2015 member of the Crown Guard with the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps. She also performed as a member of Aria Winterguard during the 2016 season and Etude Independent Winterguard during the 2017 & 2018 seasons. Tiffany has also traveled the US performing with the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps. Tiffany is currently the dance teacher at Central Academy of the Arts in Central, SC. She also works with the Easley High School Marching Band.

 

Ashleigh Joy- Instructor/ Choreographer

 

Ashleigh graduated from Coastal Carolina University in August 2017, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She has 14 years of dance training and dance competitively in her hometown of Anderson, SC.  Ashleigh received many awards during her time as a dancer. She has worked with many well-known choreographers such as Tyce Diorio, Dejan Tubic, and Kathryn McCormick. Ashleigh's favorite style of dance is Hip Hop. She will be working with our competitive dancers this season in the styles of lyrical, jazz, and hip hop. Ashleigh is also our Marketing Coordinator.

 

 

 

 

Maggie Moore Instructor

Maggie is a recent graduate from Nation Ford High School in May 2020. Kendall has over 10 years of dance training and was a PDP competitive dancer for the last 4 years. During her time dancing with PDP, Maggie captivated the stage with high scoring solos. Maggie will be working with our young recreational students this season.

 

Winnie Alewine- Acro & Instructor

Winnie is a  graduate of Rock Hill High School. She was apart of the Rock Hill Performance Ensemble. Winnie has many years of gymnastics and dance training. Winnie was a competitive dancer here at PDP. During her time dancing with PDP, Winnie graced the stage with her flexibility and high scoring solos. Winnie has been a finalist performer with The DIstrict Independent Winterguard at Winterguard International World Championships. Winnie will be working with our young recreational students and strength and conditioning with our competitive dancers. 

 

 

 

Katie Jo Carter- Instructor

Katie Jo has danced her entire life. She has trained in tap, ballet, jazz, and hip hop, but clogging is her favorite style of dance. Katie Jo joins PDP with 10 years of teaching experience in the field of dance. Katie Jo is excited to join us as she works with our competitive dancers in tap. She also looks forward to beginning classes in clogging for the first time at PDP.

Will Archie- Co-Owner/ Business Manager

Will Archie graduated from Walden University with a Master's in Educational Leadership in 2009. He is also a co-director for the Northwestern & Rock Hill High school colorguard programs. Will is a co-director of The District Independent Winterguard that was ranked 5th in the nation during the 2017 season. He also has worked with and taught many groups & high schools throughout the state of SC as a guest clinician & choreographer through the pageantry arts. Will also serves as a judge through out the state. 

 

Kristen Hosenfeld- Office Manager

Kristen Hosenfeld has been a part of Palmetto Dance productions since it's opening. She started as a very involved parent, and moved into assisting with fundraising opportunities. She and her husband Kyle work to create props for our competitive teams and assist in day to day operations and maintenance around the studio. Mrs. Kristen can usually always be found around the studio and in the office assisting parents and staff. She has two daughters, Bailey and Hannah that are dancers on our competitive teams.
